| Well, the latest Bengal season came to a close the other day, and for the first time in 15 years it ended in a playoff game appearance. Too bad they weren't able to win the game, but I suppose that's what happens when you have a pourous defense and your star quarterback goes down with a torn ACL and MCL.
I hear people ripping Jon Kitna for what he did in the game. How he lost the game. Really, he didn't lose the game. Yes, he made some mistakes, but the fault really lies in the defense. If our defense was worth anything on Sunday, they would have made some stops on defense, kept the Steelers from scoring and suddenly Kitna isn't put into a position to try and win the game with his arm. The Bengals only ran the ball 13 times on Sunday. That's ridiculous. We have Rudi Johnson at running back. A very good back, yet we don't run the ball. Part of it probably had to do with us needing to try and score a lot of points and quickly. I don't mind having an offense that is capable of scoring 50 points a game. But I don't want us to HAVE to score 50 points a game. That's what was starting to happen. The defense is only good enough to allow only 40 points a game, which is terrible. We had a great scoring defense at the beginning of the year, but that's because we had a lot of turnovers, but that well dried up and we started giving up more and more and more.
But really, it's time to move forward and go to the annual "Wait 'til next year." However, we finally have a lot of things to look forward to. The past few years have had more optimism, but finally we have gotten over the hump. Next year certainly looks to be tougher. Granted, you can't tell until the year starts. I mean who would have expected the NFC North to start the year beyond terrible and for the Lions to have a better record than the Packers and STILL be bad. By winning the division we get the lovely task of having Indianapolis and New England on the schedule along with the NFC South and the AFC West. Those games against the West include games at Kansas City and Denver. This schedule could be a real tough one. Hopefully we don't end up like the Chargers of this year. Pretty good, but sitting at home because of a nasty schedule.
The team has its needs. Multiple positions need to be readressed in the defense, we need a versatile Tight End and we need Carson Palmer to recover well from his injury. Only time will tell how things will be this year. But overall this past year was a success and a very needed one. Sure, we lost the last 3 games of the year, including the playoff game, but we still had 11 wins. To tell me we'd finally get over the 8 win hump, make the playoffs, and win the division at the beginning of the year I would have called the year a success. So I will stick by this. A success, but something that we can definitely improve a lot upon.

| Wow, it's been a long time since I've said anything here, a little more than 21 months in fact. It's hard to believe that so much time has passed. Honestly, time has really flown by.
Since my last post I've finished school finally and moved on from a lot of stressful things in life. I don't have a job quite yet, but I'm finally getting really close to getting one. That's good news. But since nothing is official yet, I won't post anything on it, yet.
I don't have too much else to say right now. Other than while I'm sitting back and observing things, it's funny to note that however much things change over the years, they really aren't any different. The arguments may change topics, but it's still all about the same exact things.
I think that's all for now, I'll say more later. Hopefully my next post is before September 5, 2007 .

| So I haven't updated this thing in forever... oh well. I really don't care. Obviously a lot has happened since last I posted here, another quarter has come and gone, a quarter that didn't go quite as well as I expected. I could have done a lot better had some things fallen into place correctly, but when you don't have total control over everything that is going on, you tend to get things messed up and then they go wrong and you get the short end of the stick. Oh well, at least the quarter is over with. I liked the challenge that it provided, just there was way too much expected in too short of a time and well I just didn't do everything exactly the way I wanted to and now I pay for it.
Now it's back to co-op until September. The first 3 days have been interesting to say the least, or maybe I should say extremely boring. I, as of right now, do not have a computer, do not have a phone, heck, I don't even have a chair for my desk. I know a few other returning co-ops are in similar situations. Apparantly the return process needs to be tweaked just a tad so that things this bad don't happen. I expect glitches or slight problems, but truthfully this is totally ridiculous. And on top of that my assignment leader is on vacation this week. I do know what project I'm working on, or well at least the title. I have no clue exactly what I'll be doing with it yet though. I've been getting an explanation of the project and what it's attempting to do from the person who is in charge, but unfortuanately her kids are on spring break this week so she is taking half days and because of that I've been able to spend 2 hours this week working with her. So that means the other 22 hours so far have been spent sitting around reading documents just waiting for things to come or accounts to be activated. So hopefully things will get better there, it's just really frustrating to have a job, want to do the job, and not have a way to actually get anything accomplished.
Well, I think that's it for now. I'm sure I could type more, but I just don't feel like it currently. Until later...

| I love snow, I really do. What I don't like however is snow in Cincinnati.... Just say the word "snow" on TV during the weather report and it's all over. It doesn't matter if the words surrounding it are "flurries" or "10 feet of" , people will go insane because the White Death is approaching at light speed. They flock to the grocery stores to stock up on supplies that will help them get through the next month just in case they happened to be snowed in, which most people would agree that would take a heck of a lot of snow to accomplish, more than would ever really fall in Cincinnati. And well, if it did fall here, I think the world would have more problems than just a large bit of snow, maybe like the polar icecaps expanding to include all of Michigan... oh wait, no loss there.
I mean, I guess I could see wanting to stock up on food if we are supposed to get a lot of snow, just so if it does, you can stay off the road and inside your house for a few days. But it's really not that bad. And half of the time people go crazy, it doesn't even snow at all. What really gets me is that if the same "impending doom" forecast is made a few days later, the same stupid people go running out yet again to raid the grocery stores. So eventually if the pattern continues, the people of Cincinnati have now found the way to feed China and India for years to come.
So then it does snow and every school in the city has to close. Sure it's great if you live in one of those spastic cities and you are a kid, you'd love to get a day off of school. I certainly don't mind the stupid days off now either, except I find them completely unncessary. What's funny is how different areas react. Kentucky schools close with the word flurries. Indiana close when it starts actually snowing. And Ohio, well whether you close or not depends on how many kids rely on your food services (see Cincinnati Public Schools).
But anyway, it snowed for the first time tonight, well the first "significant" snowfall. In Cincinnati that means the roads got covered, barely covered, but covered. To all of those who are not from Cincinnati, this was absolutely nothing, but you have to remember the wonderful people I'm talking about. The same people that say the Bengals will win a Super Bowl when hell freezes over. Great, then the city will really be shut down. They can't deal with ice!
Later .
